Assistant Accountant

Job Description

My client-based West of Norwich are looking for an Assistant Accountant - ideally full time but for the right person may consider 4 full days a week.

You MUST be experienced in accounts and have a formal accounts qualification.

Busy, dynamic and professional company based in a beautiful setting.

Some of the duties will include: -

  • Reporting of group balances and processing authorized inter-account transfers.
  • Process Bacs rejection reports.
  • Processing month end journals.
  • Invoice entry, processing and statement reconciliation.
  • Error investigation and correction.
  • Business report data entry and reconciliation.
  • Budget variance investigation and reporting.
  • PL and SL entries, process monthly accounts and BS for subsidiaries and third-party entities.
  • Provide assistance in preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of VAT returns

Recognised finance qualification is required for this role.

Preferred Skills

Experience of Barclays.net banking software.

Sage Accounts or similar packages.

Excellent IT skills including practical experience in both Excel and Word.

Design / repair of Excel spreadsheets including formulae and macros.
